LARAPINTA CHILDCARE AND FAMILY CENTRE

ALICE SPRINGS

2015

To design a childcare and family centre in Alice Springs that prioritizes light-filled and spacious interior rooms, complemented by captivating outdoor play areas, fostering an environment that is both welcoming and stimulating for children and families in a culturally appropriate learning environment. The facility was designed to be a multipurpose facility that could also accommodate several health and education and care programs. The facility was  an exemplar in childcare design and included in the latest pedagogical outcomes into its core design and function.

  • Our architectural approach to the childcare centre involved designing a multipurpose facility that caters to a diverse range of services and programs, ensuring a comprehensive and adaptable environment.

  • The creation of a culturally appropriate learning environment, tailoring our design to embrace diversity and inclusivity, and fostering a sense of cultural belonging.

  • Providing a high-quality, nurturing, and engaging environment that promotes the holistic development of each child.

  • An emphasis on external landscaping, integrating nature into the surroundings to not only enhance the aesthetics but also to create an environment that promotes interactive learning outcomes, fostering curiosity and connection with the natural world.
