GOODSTART EARLY LEARNING CENTRE

CHARLES DARWIN UNIVERSITY

2021

Design the Charles Darwin University Childcare Centre at the Casuarina CDU campus, focusing on optimizing the layout, functionality, and aesthetics to provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children while meeting the evolving needs of the university community.

  • A new build for the CDU childcare centre was designed. A total of 8 learning spaces were proposed to cater for 100 children. 


  • Key challenges included maximising the useable space on a straining site. 


  • The design response was highly efficient with a linear progression of learning spaces which all flowed out onto the outdoor play area.
